Ceramique Internationale Ltd supplied swimming pool tiles for the pool edges, spa treatment rooms, other spa areas, entrances and the bathrooms in the hotel bedrooms. Mainly Titano Champagne and Titano Grigio Ash. A natural version of Titano was used in the dry areas with the riven Bocciardato version for wet areas. Some of the swimming pool tiles that were used around the edges had a special detail feature that was water cut especially to form the unique curved edge of the swimming pool.
The tile ranges were specifically chosen because they needed to be technically suitable for the purpose and the hotel environment. They also needed to fit with the rest of the sophisticated contemporary interior design at The Mere Golf and Spa Hotel.
The tiles were selected and specified by Mather and Co who worked with interior designer Rachel McLane of Rachel McLane Design on the project.
The job was part refit and partly new build. Being an existing operating hotel, we needed to work to strict deadlines and fit in with the timings of the contractor, Pochins Construction.
We supplied the tiles to the Moore brothers who did most of the on-site tiling and also a large number of tiles to Walker Modular who fitted the tiles to the bathroom pods at their Hull warehouse.
